Sky Watch Friday - The Moon

Fourteen days ago I presented a photo taken by my good friend Asbjørn from his terrace at Einehaugen showing mountains to the south.
This Sky Watch Friday I give you his documentation of the north-western view from last Tuesday morning. The moon was full and the light from the moon created wonderful reflection in the fjord. Astonishing.

The Norwegian painter Edward Munch often used the moonlight as a tag (?) in his Expressionistic landscapes.
I have made my own imitation of Munch through the painting below which I have called “Lonely”

  6. Is the moon casting some light on this lonely lady whose face is in shadow? She seems so far away, yet the moon seems somehow close!

  11. Stunning painting and picture.

Thanks for popping onto my blog. You noted that my “Moon” was not a full one. I had not thought to add that the particular shot I chose was taken on January 12. I have so noted that now. Thank you for drawing my attention to that. ;)
