The second half of 2026 covers the warm months of July, August and the beginning of September.
My works are thus results of many hours in front of the easel at the balcony. Motives from our summer holiday tour this year along the south-western part of Norway, but also from sketches made previously, have been expressed on paper and canvas.
The painting above "Yellow Hat" or "På strandpromenaden" 70x50 was made during the first heatwave in Oslo
The painting below "Glare" or "Gjenskinn" 60x50 was also among the first paintings after Midsummer made of acrylic on canvas.
Then I returned to working with acrylic on paper, and made at least 4 sketches or paintings.

As long as my competence in drawing is at least BAD, I return to the landscape and color play in front of my easel.

On our return to Oslo we passed the mountain "Ustetind" 1376 height, but this image is not a correct copy of what I saw from the car window

As every other painters; professionals or autodidacts, born in the city of Ålesund we all have a habit to make paintings from the most beautiful city in Norway and the surroundings.
"Blood beech" or "Hagelins game blodbøk" 60x50 is motivated by the garden across the street from my childhood kitchen window

Next chapter:
"Not my Style" or "Ikke meg" 50x70 is a painting that only covers the process I have been through since I made my first real painting after visiting the Picasso Museum in Antibes, France. There I found out that the great artist also used paper (bølgepapp) when he developed some of his paintings.
For me it was an opportunity to learn, repeat, remember how to use acrylic and brushes on paper again and again without having to invest more than necessary in materials and equipment.
The Ebbinghaus teorem or forgetting curve together with works by and books about Heramb, Picasso, Munch and my hometown artists Heske, Opdahl and Fagermo, have made me the painting artist I am today. (Many other artists too btw)
The title and image above was a result after my daughter sent me photos of works made by Basquiat (1960 - !988) and other at The Broad in Los Angeles, USA.
Maybe my Portrait of an Artist from 1917 can have some similarity with Basquiat´s paintings.
Back to this season production.
From holiday memories on my iPhone, through A4-sketches on paper to acrylic paintings on canvas, the following images have been worked out.
"Mot Reineskarvet" and "Bergsjø" 40x50,
and once again "I do not paint what I see, I paint what I saw"
The last two paintings this season may be something different again, but please do not tell me what not to do. Tell me how I can improve and still have fun by developing paintings full of coloristic style.
My second-last painting this season was an attempt to see what I could make in Picasso style and maybe also the Norwegian artist L. Borgen’s cubism-inspired colorful paintings.

As written above in this blog post I have from time to time a desire to make something totally different from my normal painting works. May be that is a way to find and create my own style, but the legacy from great painters (among others Juan Miró) has also given me inspiration and courage to show others how important Ancient Aliens have been in my understanding of the world history.
There are many symbolic expressions in the following painting and it is up to you to interpret the meaning.
