ABC Wednesday - B

For this ABC Wednesday I have chosen five examples for elaboration on the letter B.

B for today Breakfast with Bacon and egg.
B for the Burning sun and the Blond Beachgirls at FKK MaspalomasB for theBaccalao Pot made ready for Dinner tonight. For recipe, see my comments.

and:

B for Blogtext swapping.

I have many visitors on Wednesdays and Fridays. They come from all over the world. On these days I also use English as text-posting language. Everyone can comments on photos and text.
I have also many global visitors all other days, but they cannot comment because Norwegian is not a global language.

Will the feedback improve and the net-connections expand if I swap to English text every day? All of my visitors in Norway can read (and write?) English, and if not wanted, they do not need to write comments in English. I indeed understand my mother tongue.

Bridging gaps between the writer and the reader can be looked upon as Bridging the gap between two counties like here at Svinesund between Norway and Sweden (the old Bridge seen from the new motorway bridge).
Connection established. No blocking of the road on each sides.
Start communication! Make Comments!

If you still are scrolling, looking and reading my post, I invite you to use some more minutes to see and listen to Freddy Kempf playing the
Piano sonata No.8 - Pathetique (YouTube video takes ab. ten min.)

B for Ludvig van Beethoven.

Great photos for B. You should have included a recipe for the Baccalao Pot! It looks good.

And you have bacon and egg! Now I am hungry.

Many good B-photos. The breakfast was too heavy for me, but the paintings, bacalao and the music was very good. Thank you:)

If any out there wants to make the Bacalao, here is a recipe:

Ingredients for serving 6 persons

It is very easy to see the southern European background of this fiery red flavorful dish. Many people credit the bacalao with the lively temperament of people from north-western Norway.
The success of a bacalao stew depends not only on good fish -- which is a must -- but on using good tomatoes, pimientos and olive oil.

Serve with plenty of crusty bread.

11/2 (1/2kg) pounds salted and dried cod, bacalao
2 pounds (1kg) potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch slices
3 large yellow onions, cut into 1/2-inch slices
2 cans tomatoes, chopped, with their juices
1 pound (1/2kg) canned pimientos, drained and cut into
1/2-inch (1cm) slices
4 to 6 garlic cloves, sliced or crushed
2 bay leaves
1/4 cup (1/2dl) chopped fresh parsley
1 to 2 dried hot red chiles, chopped and seeded
10 black peppercorns
11/2 cups (3 1/2dl) olive oil

This is how you do it
Place the salt cod in a large pot of water and let soak for 24 to 36 hours, depending on how dry the fish is, until softened. Change the water at least twice during the process.

Drain the fish and cut into 2-inch chunks.

In a large pot, layer the potatoes, onions, and cod. Add the tomatoes, pimientos, garlic, bay leaves, two-thirds of the parsley, the chiles, peppercorns, and olive oil. Gently simmer for 30 minutes, then reduce the heat to low and cook for 45 minutes. Shake the pot every now and then, but do not stir.

Gently ladle the stew into six bowls, sprinkle with the remaining parsley, and serve.

Thanks Arne,
For your ABC wednes day, and I like the 'more' choices you made, the most I like the person on the beach...

How do you mean that my BIRDS_music on the blog is giving problems with the provider? In what way? I did not hear this before that why I am asking...

Bye JoAnn
Joining ABC wednesday too

bacon and eggs on wednesdays - yes indeed - our diet limits us breakfasting on bacon and eggs once a week and wednesday is the day the choose.

loved the references to the German Nudists [harks back to my ABC-U post]

Never heard of Baccalao

as for language I'm glad you use English on wednesdays - a lot of blogs post in two or even three languages simultaneously. I don't think you should stop posting in Norwegian altogether as often things get lost in translation.

Those are good 'B's. I particularly like the Bridge between countries.

Nice ABC post. Funny how different we eat all over the world.
It is really hard to comment on a post when you don't know what is being said. Maybe you should post in both languages.

hpy said...

That's a Big question! And the answer depends on what you wish.
My blog is in several languages, you can never (?) know in which of them I will post, but my visitors come nevertheless and they comment in the language of their choice. I admit that I often use the comments myself to say what I posted about.
Var valkommen och titta in - ingen text pa norska, men ibland en kommentar.

I am grateful that you also use English BUT a picture says a thousand words! You are wonderful to use English for us that don't know Norwegian. I learned a bi of German in high school and college but today can now write it, only say a few phrases . . . so you have a talent.

Enjoyed all your photos of B's. Its fun to see what everyone finds for each letter.

Interesting selection ArneA.
Only thing is that the bacon and eggs is off my menu, as I am on a cholesterol free diet

You can always go back to your native tongue if the English doesn't work out as hoped. I for one can certainly only read english (and very little Spanish or German).

But music is a worldwide language and Herr Beethoven is certainly one of the great masters.

You have lots of B's this week. This sounds stupid, but do Norwegians eat bacon & eggs for breakfast too? I have never eaten dried cod before. You must be a good cook.

Wonderful "B" post : )

The B sound from Beethoven is an interesting addition to your B photos. I am glad that you choose to post in English at least these tow days. Although a picture is worth a thousand words, the words of explanation can be essential to understanding. I will continue to wander through your Norwegian posts to enjoy the images there (even though I can't always understand them).

What a bunch of beautiful and interesting Bs! This was a wonderful post. I always enjoy reading your english posts.

In my Sky Watch post you wanted to know what the bottom flag was. That is the Texas state flag. The big "lone" star in the blue section didn't show up. Thank you for your kind words and interest in my picture.
