First of all, this Wednesday you HAVE TO go to Mrs Nebitts Place and make comments according to the changed rules for ABC Wednesday. Mr. Linky is out of function for the time being in this fellowship.
In the beginning I thought the letter J was difficult. May be it had to do with the pronouncement of the letter in Norwegian and or English. However, I managed to find, as far as I can see, acceptable variations although I had to bend the rules (?) a little.
Therefore I start with a German word which in English is an interpretation in French.
J is for Jugendstil (Jugendstil |ˈyoōgəntˌ sh tēl|noun German term for Art Nouveau) as in the Jugendcity Ålesund, Norway. My second photo is from Dublin where my wife after reading and loving Ulysses by James Joyce had to do her Bloomsday walk and meet with the author at North Earl Street.
J is for James Joyce. In Verona, Italy there is a famous place where tourists are going to recall one of the romantic drama by William Shakespeare , Romeo and Juliet. We visited Arena di Verona when seeing the Opera AIDA by Verdi in 2003. The photo is taken before going to see the Opera.
J is for Juliet´s Balcony
My Painting this week is accompanied by 2 YouTube videos.
First a Video clip from the musical Chicago where Mrs. Zeta-Jones performs All that Jazz
and
Second the famous cello player Jacqueline du Pre who has been given the title of the painting.
J is for all that Jazz, zeta-Jones and Jacqueline.
As i said it started difficult, but ends up rather satisfactory.
Since it is still winter around here and also in most of the ABCW blogger´s local areas, I was ready to present photos from January.
However, now it´s time to look ahead, and within a few months we can see the summer months coming. Photos from the apple blossom in June and raspberries at my cottage in July may hopefully help you with the present depression.

Some collection - you must have eaten the whole dictionary! Personally I would at the moment prefer June or July.
What are you going to do when you get to T...?
PS The two "extra tools in my picture is a plastic tooth-pick and forceps!
Juliet's balcony! I studied Romeo and Juliet for one of my major school examinations and loved the book. many forces were working against the couple, in particular the nurse and the messenger!
Your cottage looks lovely, is it the practise in Norway to have an appartment and a cottage as Rune seems to have one as well.
happy ABC Wednesday
Arnea

Lovely pics. The last two have made me really eager for summer, especially as it's a dull, damp day here in Wales. Happy Wednesday!

You travel a LOT, Arne! But why leave Norway - it's so beautiful?
Excellent collection and beautiful pictures. Well done!
Happy Wednesday!
My you have done well with so many J's posts, they are all great, but i must confess Juliet is a romantic piece of work.
You had an abundance of J photos! Felt like I was on a tour. . . come and see mine -- just 4 but all related to one big J word. I finally got them all re-loaded and everyone should be able to see them now.
ah Shakespeare and Romeo and Juliet, Great collection of pictures
As always a lovely photo of the Mrs.
And what interesting J's!
Splendid J's. I throughly enjoyed them all... strawberries are my favorites and I can never get enough of this wonderful fruit!!
Very nice shots. My photos are up for this week, so please stop by. It has been a bit more difficult without Mr. Linky, but maybe everyone can find time to visit each other.
Very nice photos. I enjoyed viewing them.
Some very interesting J's here - I like the Juliet's balcony especially.
on Hyde DP you remarked "think you also should comment on mrs nesbitts blog, not only telling you are up" - I'm sorry if my first comment there seemed abrupt but having been offline for 24 hours I first wanted to inform her that I was back. My connection is still very slow and I couldn't see most of her photos (I still can't view videos). I said I'd go back when I'd posted the J post on my personal blog and then I DID comment more specifically on her post.
Until my speeds get back to normal I won't be able to get round to commenting on everyone's post - much as I should like to do - please understand.
Arnea, your J is wonderful.....love the author statue with your lovely wife.
Oh what a nice and varied collection of J's you posted for us! I enjoyed my journey here..
Yes, a very creative and satisfactory J post. Lots of fun, I really enjoyed it.

For thinking the J was going to be difficult, I would say you were very sucessful.

wow, you've had some wonderful travels and found great 'J's!
very interesting choices. If we were to pick winners today, I think you would or should get it hands down.
What a wonderful bunch of J pictures! Your pictures are always interesting.
An outstanding list of J's when I had a hard time thinking of just 1 thing. By the way, jellyfish is delicious.
Lovely post and wonderful jpegs
:-)
Since January is far behind, and June and July just a glimmer in the future, I hover between my love for winter and my love for summer in the mountains. One day on snowshoes, the next reading springtime stories to preschoolers. You have offered up a grand dose of Js.
I too have done the Bloomsday walk - Just great!
