The Grand Master and his Commander

Wednesday we celebrated that it was 25 years since Team-83 at Rikshospitalet performed the first Heart Transplantation in Norway. At the end of the very interesting program, one of the most important persons in organ transplantation then and today, Prof.Dr.med Odd Geiran was awarded Commander of St. Olav Orden.
On the photo Dr Geiran is seen with his badge on necklet under the painting of the Order´s Grand Master, H.M. King Harald 5 at the City Hall. The Mayor of Oslo, Fabian Stang, was one of us giving our best congratulations to Odd; the sledgehammer as I called him after his response when my new heart stopped due to total AV 10 tears ago.
Some of his colleges and members of Team 83 also attended the ceremony:
And of course the most important person was Bente who has lived with the heart of the 37 years old male donor for 25 years. A real Gift for Life. A gift that works! On the photo Bente is preparing for a hug by now retired Dr.Svein Simonsen, "the Father" of us heart transplanted in all these years.
After the reception at the City Hall, many of us had a nice dinner at Aker Brygge, and of course was Anne-Kristi and Klaus participating.

Aren't You a little bit Hillarious, dear Arne? ;-)

En velfortjent medalje.
er det ei flaske med "hjertemedisin" som jeg ser nakken av på det nederste bildet?
