L for Layout and Leather Jackets

This photo is taken by Eldar Tandstad at "Sandvika" Flem, Haram community a few weeks ago, and shows the beauty at Skule Island and the north western part of Norway with the waves rolling against the shore in stormy weather.
In 1987 by Royal Resolution the Government in Norway decided that Haram´s Coat of Arms should be: "Shared by silver and blue with the reverse arc cut by three arches."

Eldar Tandstad, from Sykkylven is responsible for the design and layout of Haram´s Cote of Arms. Tandstad´s design "Wave II" was chosen out of several proposals in a competition announced in 1984.

It was the first time Tandstad designed a Coat of Arms, and, according to himself, also the last time. - The requirements and the rules of heraldic design is so strict, that I do not think I will try me on this several times, he says. The Layout of this Cote of Arms is unique in many ways. The designer says that the wave motif that is chosen, can be a symbol of the sea that connects parts of the county together. The motif can also be related to the obstacles that often must be overcome to promote growth and prosperity in a divided peripheral comunity. (make your own reference to the photo above)

L is for Layout.

My next photo is from Oslo taken yesterday.
L is for Leather Jackets on the Police officers riding through the streets .

Today's post is an entry in the FIFTH round of ABC Wednesday, the meme initiated by Denise Nesbitt.

Really like your choices for the letter L. Oslo shot with the cobbled street is lovely as is the ocean scene.

Nice shots but the weather looks like it has turned quite cold in Norway, The ocean is beautiful no matter what time of year, I think. But those leather jackets are making me feel chilly.

What a beautiful photo of the sea and coastline! I just heard on the radio today that according to a survey, Norway has the best quality of life in the world. Certainly, judging from your photos, it is a beautiful place.

I can almost hear the horse clip-clopping on those stone streets. :)

Wonderful photos. It's been a very long time since I was in Oslo, apart from the airport. So I am glad to see a photo of this beautiful city. Thanks for sharing.

Jeg sto over L denne gangen (var på høstferie i Kristiansand), men du har laget innlegg for to, så mitt var nok ikke savnet.
