This Blogpost can be visited every day during the weekend.
Due to absence from daily blogging the coming days, I will on this Sky Watch Friday present some photos taken last autumn at the target of this weekendtrip.
In addition my good friend Asbjørn, has sent me the view to the south from his own terrace taken New Year Eve. Living that close to the spectacular nature at Sykkylven makes me hope he will continue to send me photos when the snow is creeping down the hillsides. Until he has started his own blog I will be pleased to present some of his shots here.
I will however start this photopresentation at Ålesund. This photo is taken from the town mountain (Aksla) to the west and the North Sea showing rain showers coming in. Ålesund is a beautiful city from the Art Nouveau period.
The next photo is taken towards north and Aksla when the sun has found holes in the clouds.
During the photo session this day the wind became stronger. The rainbow presented its colors and the sea at the harbour reservoir became white.
To the east and Borgundfjorden the showers are covering the landscape as seen at an earlier Sky Watch Friday blogpost, and behind that is Sykkylven and the photo from Asbjørn.
The mountains are Trollkyrkja (gjekselen) in the middle with Blåbretind. Far behind Råna (1586 m/ 5203 ft) the highest summit in the municipality. More summits Here

I see have I to go to Ålesund again - I have only seen it from the Coastal Voyage (Hurtigruten).
Great advertising for a beautiful city!
PS Thank you for nice comments
En flott samling bilder fra ett vakkert land. Jeg har aldri vært i Ålesund. Ser at det er verdt ett besøk.
Ønsker deg ei god helg. Skål! ;)
You caught some spectacular moments. God bless.
These are wonderful and I liked the information about each. The buildings and the way the town flows is so interesting. I enlarged the first picture for a better look. It makes me want to visit the city, to see for myself. Your cat pictures below are irrisistable. :)

These are very wonderful shots of a place that looks to be very beautiful too.
Great, breath taking photos! I especially like the second one!
Ominous clouds, white capped seas, and strong mountains combine to make this and impressive set of powerful photographs. Excellent work!
Ålesund er byen sin det. Virkelig fint. Og med dine fine bilder i tillegg så må det friste flere enn meg til å ta en tur. Jeg var der i sommer og tror nok at det blir en tur til i 2008.
