He entered Davy Byrnes. Moral pub. He doesn't chat. Stands a drink now and then. But in a leap year once in four. Cashed a cheque for me once.
The oldest Pub in Ireland (The Brazen Head) is also a place to visit, and do not miss the possibility to be qualified as an Authorized Whiskey Taster at Jameson Destillery.
In week-ends you may go to The Merrion Square Art Exhibition which is Dublin’s only free, all year open-air weekend art exhibition. The Statue of Molly Malone on Grafton Street will probably make you too participate in singing Cockles and Mussels with The Dubliners
and hopefully meet a real urban Dubliner (as described in the more available book by James Joice than Ulysses). This News Paper Man can be met in the Temple Bar District.

We hope to visit Southern Ireland one day. We did visit Northern Ireland in 2006 and really enjoyed the wonderful countryside.
The people were so friendly too.
1198 is MIGHTY old! We are so silly over here thinking 1620 is old. That Molly Malone statue is disturbing. It is quite a male fantasy figure.
I'll subscribe to the pub and the beer and so forth, but Ireland is more than Dublin. If you are keen on history - look up Newgrange.
Hei gutten.
And so are you my friend :-)
Klem herfra en lørdag kveld.
Spennende og interessant.
Pub til pub til pub til pub til pub runde...... ;)
